GENERAL INFO: HOUSING

[img] Hubbard HallStudents will be notified of the type of housing they are assigned to prior to arrival. Specific room assignments will not be available until check-in day. Housing assignments are based on many factors including age, gender, financial need, and instrument mix. The festival reserves the right to make the final decision in all placements.

Students 13 - 15 years old and 16 - 17 years old are housed separately in Bowdoin College residence halls under the supervision of resident assistants and are required to observe strictly enforced curfews. Students 18-20 years old are also housed in Bowdoin College residence halls, but do not have to observe curfew. This age group is also eligible for community housing depending on financial need and housing availability. Students 21 and older are eligible for housing in college apartments, residence halls or community housing depending on financial need and housing availability. Any student under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the entire length of their stay. This age group is not eligible for campus housing. Festival staff will assist in finding off campus housing for people in this category.

[img] Group classCollege Residence Hall Housing: Double and triple occupancy rooms are available to all students over the age of 13. Students ages 13-17 must observe strictly enforced curfews. Every student who lives in residence hall housing is required to purchase the meal plan. Special dietary needs can be accommodated in almost all cases.

College Apartments: For students who are 21 and older at the start of the Festival and receiving financial assistance, a very limited number of college-owned multiple occupancy apartments with cooking facilities are available. Please note that these apartments have stoves and refrigerators but do not have pots, pans, dishes or utensils. On-campus meal plans are optional for those living in college apartments.

Community Housing: A limited number of rooms in private homes with kitchen privileges are available for students 18 and older receiving financial assistance.

Please note: The festival cannot house spouses of students unless the spouse is also a festival student. In this case, every effort will be made to house both students together in a private, comfortable space.
