Steven
Doane: Professor of Cello, Eastman School of Music. Eisenhardt
Award for Excellence in Teaching (Eastman School); Piatigorsky Commendation
from the New England Conservatory. Finalist, Tchaikovsky Competition;
Naumburg Chamber Music Award (as a member of the New Arts Trio).
Recent recitals in Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and London's
Wigmore Hall. Soloist with the San Francisco Symphony, Milwaukee,
Buffalo and Rochester Philharmonic, and the Irish National Symphony.
Masterclasses throughout the U.S. Appearances at the International
Cello Festival in Manchester, England and most of the major music
institutes in the U.K. Recent recordings on the Bridge label have
won the Naird Award in U.S. and the Diapason d'Or in France; other
recordings for Caedmon, Gasparo, Pantheon, and Sony. In residence
for first three week session.

of Music concerto competitions. Winner of the Cleveland Institute
of Music Cello Award for Excellence and Achievement. Associate Principal
Cello, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra; Soloist with the Juilliard
Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall. Recitals of Bach's six suites at
Bargemusic, Columbia University, ENCORE School for Strings Blue
Ribbon Series, Windham Chamber Music Festival, La Sierra University,
Indiana University, and abroad at the Tel-Aviv Art Museum and the
Jerusalem University, Israel. MET Chamber Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.
Chamber music collaborations with members of the Guarneri and Juilliard
string quartets, Richard Goode, Kim Kashkashian, Joseph Silverstein,
Midori, and Lynn Harrell. In residence for full six-week

Elliott: Faculty, Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y.
Former member, National Symphony of Ireland; founding member of
the Irish Contemporary Music ensemble, Nua Nos. Concerts and recording
work with the Smithsonian Chamber Players, Rochester Philharmonic,
the London Mozart Players, the Orchestra of St. John's Smith Square.
Appearances at the International Musician's Seminar in Cornwall,
England, the Chamber Music Festival of Kerry, Ireland, the Skaneatles
and Fortissimo festivals in New York State. In residence for first
three week session.

Andre
Emelianoff: Faculty, The Juilliard School; Member, Aeolian Chamber
Players. Principal cellist of the New York Chamber Symphony under
Gerard Schwarz. Winner of a 1985 Solo Recitalist Award from the
National Endowment for the Arts. Has toured as soloist and chamber
artist throughout Japan, Russia, Austria and England as well as
North America, and gave recitals throughout central Asia and the
Mediterranean as an American Ambassador for the Arts, sponsored
by the USIA. Cellist with the Da Capo Chamber Players and the Aeolian
Chamber Players. Has commissioned and premiered works by Aaron Kernis,
Joan Tower, George Perle, Richard Wernick, Shulamit Ran, Stephen
Jaffe, and Gerald Levinson. Has recorded for CRI, Opus One, New
World Records, Nonesuch, GM Recordings, RCA, Bridge Records, and
Pro Arte. Teaches cello at the Mozarteum Salzburg summer course.
In residence for second three week session.

Soloist with Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Baltimore
Symphony, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, New Orleans, San Antonio,
Columbus, Richmond, Berlin Radio Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic,
BBC Welsh Symphony, Buenos Aires Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony,
Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, etc. Collaborated
with Leon Fleisher, Aaron Copland, Itzhak Perlman, the Tokyo, and
Manhattan quartets, among others. First recording ever of the Alkan
Grand Sonate de Concert, receiving a Grand Prix du Disque nomination.
Presents master classes at conservatories worldwide including Juilliard,
University of Indiana at Bloomington, New England Conservatory,
Peabody Conservatory (on the faculty for 10 years), Berlin Hochschule,
Paris Conservatoire, Royal Academy and Guildhall in London, Tokyo
National University, Utrecht Conservatory, University of Ottawa,
Colombia, Israel, Brazil and others. Since making New York debut
at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, has appeared at Carnegie Hall,
92nd Street Y, Lincoln Center. Founder and artistic director of
Close Encounters With Music, presenting thematic chamber music concerts
in the Berkshires, Scottsdale, and other cities across the US, and
leads “BachAnnalia” festival at CCM. In residence for second three-week
session.

Peter
Howard: Principal Cellist, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra
(retired). Prizewinner, Casals International Competition and the
International Competition for String Quartets. Soloist with Saint
Paul Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, and many other orchestras
in the United States and Europe. Performed in recitals in Berlin,
London, and New York; toured in South America, Australia, and Mexico,
and has collaborated in chamber music performances with Isaac Stern,
Leonard Rose, Pinchas Zuckerman, Joseph Silverstein, Shlomo Mintz
and Lee Luvisi. Served on the faculties of the Oberlin Conservatory
of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, Bowling Green State
University, and the North Carolina School of the Arts International
Music Program. His students have won numerous competitions and awards
nationally and internationally, and he has won the Schubert Club
teacher of the Year. In residence for full six week session.
