Amir Eldan was appointed assistant professor of cello at the Oberlin Conservatory in 2006 and became a member of the Oberlin Trio. Before joining the faculty at Oberlin, he served on the faculty at Juilliard as assistant to Joel Krosnick.

Amir was the youngest member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra when he won the position of Associate Principal Cellist at the age of twenty-two. He performed with the Orchestra for three years and was invited by James Levine to perform with the MET Chamber Ensemble in Carnegie Hall. He received his Doctor of Music degree and Masters degree from the Juilliard School and his Bachelor degree cum laude from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he studied with Richard Aaron and won the cello award for achievement and excellence.

He has collaborated with members of the Guarneri and Juilliard String Quartets, Richard Goode, Lynn Harrell, Steven Isserlis, Kim Kashkashian, Midori and Joseph Silverstein. He has performed at the music festivals of La Jolla, Marlboro, Ravinia, the Chamber Music Festival in Giverny, France, and in the Open Chamber Music in Prussia Cove, England. His performances have been featured on Public Radio in the US, Europe and Israel.
